Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft Windows 2000 certification is designed for
professionals who implement, manage, and troubleshoot existing network and system environments based on the Microsoft Windows® 2000 and Windows .NET Server platforms. The new Microsoft Certified Systems
Administrator (MCSA) on Microsoft Windows® 2000 credential will advance your career by ensuring you have the skills to successfully manage and troubleshoot system environments running on the Windows 2000
operating system.
The Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) credential proves that you have the skills to successfully
implement, manage, and troubleshoot the ongoing needs of Microsoft Windows® 2000–based operating environments, including Windows .NET Server.
An MCSA candidate should have six to 12 months of experience working with a desktop
operating system, a network operating system, and an existing network infrastructure.
Choose the MCSA credential if you:
- Manage, support, and troubleshoot the ongoing needs of Microsoft Windows® server-based operating environments.
- Have six to 12 months of experience managing and supporting a desktop server and network operations in an existing network infrastructure.
Job title examples include:
systems administrator, network administrator, information systems administrator, network
operations analyst, network technician, or technical support specialist.
MCSA candidates are required to pass three core exams and one elective exam. The following
