Cisco ® CCDP ® Certification

The CCDP certification ( Cisco Certified Design Professiona l) indicates advanced or journeyman knowledge of network design. With a CCDP Certification, a network professional can design routed and switched networks involving LAN, WAN, and dial access services for businesses and organizations with 100 to more than 500 nodes.

CCDP Prerequisites

Valid CCNA Certification (exam 640-507) and CCDA Certification  (exam 640-441) certification  are prerequisites for CCDP Certification.

Benfits of CCDP Certification

Overall, Cisco certification validates an individual’s achievement, so it increases the holder’s professional credibility by ensuring high standards of technical expertise. In particular, CCDP certification indicatesknowledge of network design for organizations whose complex, multiprotocol networks have from 100 to more than 500 nodes.

A CCDP certified individual can perform the following tasks:

    • Determine customer requirements for network performance, security, capacity, and scalability
    • Design an internetwork architecture that meets customer requirements and may include campus LANs, routed and switched WANs, and remote access net-works
    • Articulate the benefits of the design to a customer’s satisfaction
    • Develop and test a prototype network that validates the design–and demonstrate that proof to a customer’s satisfaction

Positions for a CCDP certified individual include:

    • Senior network design engineer
    • Senior network consultant or analyst
